You remind me that Scripture says those who have ignored, doubted, and forgotten the Creator of Heaven and Earth and all that is within it, aka Jesus Christ, have brought a curse upon themselves, and therefore their nation, if collectively. Out of the hundreds of Biblical prophesies, most have been fulfilled, leaving only a few unfolding before our eyes such as we see now, even in our own nation.
This battle over water has to do with the warnings of famines, drought, wars, pestilences, flooding, earthquakes, and all that comes with those things. Because all battles are spiritual,
God is in the midst of them, and we know the Victor, right? It’s not the end of the world, but is the end of the Age of Grace, followed by the Millinneum Era which lasts 1,000 yrs. after which shall be the ‘end’ of all things as we know them.
Holy Scripture also states that ‘when Christians see Israel completely surrounded by her enemies, look up, for your Redemption is at hand.’ Exactly when this happens is unclear, but from all appearances, rumors, facts, destruction of the planet, it seems to be very near. The rate of this chaos happening is phenomenal, therefore, the return of Jesus Christ is eminent.
He returns as a Judge/ the Lion of Judah -rather than the Savior/ [sacrificial] Lamb of God-
and will put an end to all human governance, setting up His kingdom on earth and all who
invited Him into their heart/ came to know Him personally aka His Children, shall rule and reign with Him forever.
So, as you said, it is only a brief life on earth, makes no difference who wins a false ‘leadership of the world’, nor what all we may experience, it only lasts for a short time,
and then those who survive it will be seeing/ worshipping Jesus, the King of kings, in the New Jerusalem; while those who are gone are already in their eternal destiny given to all mankind:
Eternal Life -or- Eternal Torment, whether we accept this or not does not change it, and God never changes, no matter how hard humans may try to ‘redesign’ Him or ‘create’ their own god, or ignore Him altogether. One can now see the consequences of the latter option.
Those who rejected/denied Him are miserable even now, without peace, searching perhaps in all the wrong places? Only God can help us through all of this, but He will not if we have not invited Him to do so as our Lord and Savior, sincerely and simply. We do not receive His blessings if He is not our Lord. All that is left are the curses which our rebellion/ stubbornness/ ignorance have brought upon ourselves.
Solution is found in 2 Thess. 7:14. It’s up to each person individually to get right with Him according to His solution. God bless and help us all. ^_^
