“You will be with child and give birth to a son, and YOU ARE TO GIVE HIM THE NAME OF JESUS.”

So commanded the Angel Gabriel, to the virgin maiden named Mary, as recorded in the Gospel of Luke, 1:31  WHY JESUS?  What’s in a name, in other words?

JESUS, the literal name above all names – the King above all Kings, the Prince of Peace.  Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.

If Gematria, the study of numbers is to have ANY meaning whatsoever, logic dictates it must begin and end with this MOST HOLY NAME.

So, since the original gospel of Luke was recorded in Greek, let’s see what the Greek letters spelling JESUS can tell us, if anything.

In Greek, the name of Jesus is spelled I H S O U S (iota, eta, sigma, omicron, upsilon, sigma). Each Greek letter has a numerical value, so if we then take each letter in the name of Jesus and add them up, the total comes to 888.  (See chart below.)

Now, continuing our prior discussion, 888 is also a Triad (Triangle) number, meaning it is divisible by the number 3. (888/3=296)

Using the Trinity principle discussed in our prior post, 8 to the 3rd power is 512 added three more times to total 1536.   It takes SEVEN sequences of the Trinity Principle to arrive at the base triangle number of 153 – the exact number of the fishes in the net. (John 21:11).  Seven -is the WATERMARK of all His creation – His ‘Firmament’.  (But that is a whole other discussion.)

The Arabic number 8 is derived and synonymous with the symbol for infinity, (the number 8 on it’s side.)  It also synonymous with the “first day of the week”, following a 7-day week.  Check it out:

1. All the Gospels tell us that Jesus rose from the dead “on the first day of the week” i.e. the 8th day.

2.  The Ark of Noah contained 8 “saved” souls – Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives.

3.  The Hebrew ritual of circumcision had to be done on the 8th Day.  (Genesis 17:12)  Luke 2:21 tells us: ‘On the 8th day, when it was time to circumcise Him, he was named Jesus, the name the ANGEL had given him before he was conceived.”

4.  In Acts 9:33-35 we read about a lame paralytic named Aeneas, who was healed in Jesus’ name – and rose out of his bed after 8 years.

5.  The “Transfiguration” of Jesus took place exactly 8 days after He first announced His future sufferings.

6.  The entire Bible details a total of 8 personal resurrections, separate and distinct from Christ and His saints:  Three (3) in the Old Testament – (1 Kings 17, 2 Kings 4 and 13),  Three (3) in the Gospels (Matthew 9, Luke 7, and John 11),  and two (2) more in Acts (9 and 20).

7.  The Resurrection is the 8th “great sign” recorded in Johns Gospel.

8.  The three Greek Words, LORD, JESUS, and CHRIST – are all gematria multiples of 8.  Furthermore, the New Testament writers uses them in exactly 8 combinations: 1. Lord 2. Jesus 3. Christ 4. Lord Jesus 5. Lord Christ 6. Jesus Christ 7. Christ Jesus, and 8 Lord Jesus Christ.

Clearly, the number 8 is the Biblical numerical symbol for infinity (eternal life), resurrection from the dead, and spiritual and physical renewal.  Again, all things are numbered – according to the Master, even the vary hairs on your head are numbered and known to Him.  See Matthew 10:30.   Now you know WHY the Angel Gabriel revealed the name JESUS.  It is literally, triple 8 – the TRINITY of eternal life and perfection come to man.

Please, worldly people, don’t take HIS NAME in anger, or in vain.
